“A Word of Truth” from Immanuel Lutheran Church of Mankato…

Human Beings are A Different Creation

A Word of Truth #130

Have you ever heard the suggestion that we are brothers and sisters with the animals? We are not! When God created Adam and Eve, He did so in a way that sets human beings apart from the rest of creation.

When God made Adam and Eve it was with special attention and action. God formed Adam in the dust of the ground and then breathed man’s life into him. God took a portion of Adam’s mid-section and formed it into Eve. God gave mankind the position of authority over all the rest of His creation, and God placed the resources of the earth into Adam and Eve’s stewardship.

The greatest difference of all is that God created mankind in His image. He created Adam and Eve with the ability able to have a spiritual, complete, and happy relationship with God in perfect righteousness and holiness. This image was lost when sin entered into the world, but is restored again through Jesus. Beyond the simple biological similarities, there really is no comparison between man and animal!

Evolution Contradicts the Bible

A Word of Truth #131

Many intelligent people accept the theory of evolution as an explanation both for the origin of our universe and of life. The theory of evolution, however, contradicts the Bible, true science, and common sense.

The Bible reminds us that “the worlds were framed by the word of God” (Hebrews 11:3) and that through Christ “all things were created that are in heaven and on earth” (Colossians 1:16). Clearly the Bible rejects evolution.

Evolution suggests that life originated from non-living matter, which clearly contradicts the scientific Law of Biogenesis, which states that life must come from life. Clearly true science rejects evolution.

Finally, the very complexity of our universe cannot be explained by evolution, but rather points to the intelligent design of our Creator God. Clearly common sense also rejects evolution.
