Bible Study Introduction: Last Autumn we undertook a study in the history of Old Testament Israel. We began with the period of the Judges and continued through the reign of King David. Now, we again resume our study of Old Testament history, beginning with King Solomon and continuing through the divided kingdom and the captivity of both Israel and Judah.

As we study and consider God’s gracious dealings with Israel in this part of their history, we will be keeping our church body’s 40^th anniversary in mind—for just as God has dealt with His people of old, so He continues to deal with His people of today. During October, it is our intention to take a three-week "break" from Old Testament study and consider God’s hand in the 40 years of the CLC’s existence.

Each lesson will include the Scripture references that will be the basis for the following week’s lesson. Please be encouraged to read these sections of Scripture during the week in preparation for Sunday’s study.
